My daughter (18 months) is sick. She has a gh fever (103)

Customer Question

My daughter (18 months) is sick. She has a high fever (103) that I can't seem to break. I have been trying to keep her hydrated but it has been a battle. I am worried that she is dehydrated- she only had 2 wet diapers today. I gave her 5 mL of Ibuprofen at 8pm tonight and 5 mL of Tylenol at 12am. It is now 1am and she still has a 103 temp. What do you recommend? I have been treating her fever for the last 2 days- it has been this high for the past 8 hrs or so.

High grade fever not responding to OTC medicines requires urgent medical intervention in children so in my opinion you should visit ER for prompt treatment.

I understand your worry however you shouldn't overdose her with medicines without consulting a pediatrician.

In the meantime you can do tap water sponging on her body.

Hope this helps.
