Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Brown mucus can be from acute bronchitis related.

Bleeding from the blood vessel can cause this.

Bacterial pneumonia is another possibility.

Although you are feeling better, you should see your doctor for a clinical evaluation.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.

Its quite common to have sore throat, cold and flu. Mostly its viral and settles in a week or so. However, if you are having fevers its best to seek doctors consult, as simple throat infections can worsen and develop into chest infections (pneumonia), in which case sometimes hospital admission may be required too. If your cough persists for more than 2 weeks then you must seek a doctors consult. Try to keep yourself well hydrated.
