Yes, the cough to due to smoking. It can be due to two reasons why smokers cough. One thing, the cilia in the lungs which help to clear the toxins get paralysed and so the cough occurs, inorder to clear the toxins.
Second thing it can be due to a lung infection. This can be cleared by antibiotics.
In both cases, you need a chest x-ray to diagnose what is wrong.
Consult a Physician after x-ray is done, and you will be treated accordingly.
