and it itches, however, it goes away after 10 or so minutes have passed. Any suggestions?

Hi. This sounds like what's called cold urticaria.

Nothing too serious and you can try taking a benedryl tablet before you shower or, better still, don't run the water cold--make it at least luke warm.
