Customer Question

I have a pain in my chest. It's kinda feels like something stuck in there. It's sharp & hurts worse when I move into a certain position. I have the pain that also feels like there is something stuck from the front through my back (right shoulder blade). My right arm feels achy. The pain in my chest is just to the right of the center of my chest.

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Right sided pain can be due to the esophageal inflammation of esophagitis commonly.

Muscle sprain related pain is another common cause.

These two causes account for most of the cases.

However some times this can be more serious in nature.

Expanding thoracic aortic aneurysm can press on the adjoining structures causing the symptoms.

mediastinal mass like swollen lymph nodes or tumor also can cause this.

Underlying heart problem also a possibility.

Hnce, further evaluation is recommended with EKG, chest xrays initially and then CT scan with contrast if needed.

Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
