Customer Question

The third and fourth toes of my right foot are frequently numb. This has gone on for about 9 months. I'm 57, female and otherwise healthy. I notice it more often after I've been sitting.

Hi. Most likely this is a nerve pinch either at the ankle level, or, much less likely, in your lower back from a disk problem there.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is also a possibility but usually that affects the entire foot

You need to see a doctor for an exam, blood work, and possibly an MRI of either the ankle or your lumbar spine
