I am Dr. Arun and will be helping you today.
I am sorry that your question was unanswered for long.
Either the oral diabetic medications, which one is taking (even herbs may be responsible) or the insulin is the likely culprit for a low blood sugar reading in the morning. Low blood sugar is caused by the combination of any of the following;
a) Increased physical exertion
b) Missing a meal
Low blood sugar may result from medication changes or overdoses, infection, diet changes, metabolic changes over time, or activity changes.
Occasionally, other medications taken for separate ailments or prolonged fasting may be the possible cause of low morning blood sugar, with above.
Please feel free for your follow up questions.
I would be happy to assist you further, if you need any more information.
