One of the commonest cause for this is urinary tract infection. A urine exam and a culture would diagnose it. A course of antibiotic is recommended for the treatment. Plenty of liquids, cranberry juice, avoidance of alcoholic drinks are advised also. The other possibilities of causes are;
1) Kidney and bladder stones
2) Urinary Tract Obstruction
3) Urinary Tract Trauma
4) Excessive exercise
5) Pyelonephritis; kidney infection
6) Sickle Cell Disease
7) Kidney and bladder tumor.
An ultrasound, blood counts, kidney function tests would be advised for the diagnosis.
