Customer Question

I believe I have lymph nodes swollen on my left side, just beneath my rib cage; i've now had them for about 2 months and they have not changed size. they are small and hard. i also have a hernia (again, between sternum and belly button). i am very worried and am seeing a doctor on friday. i've just had a cbc done a month ago, and i'm getting the results on friday.

Here is a map showing the location of lymph nodes in the body: The nodes that are within the chest area are too deep to feel.

I'm glad you are seeing your physician on Friday since any lump that stays around for more than a week or two needs to be checked out. Abdominal/unbilical hernias are more commonly found below or just around the belly button. Generally hiatal hernias aren't palpable either.
