I fell off a three foot high fence directly on my left

Customer Question

I fell off a three foot high fence directly on my left shoulder on June 20th. I went for 3 mile runs on the 20th, 24th and 29th of June. Initially, shoulder didn't feel bad. After runs hurt pretty bad. Stopped running after June 29th but still hurts. Very minor swelling over left pectoral and left clavical area. No discoloration. What is causing pain?

Thank you for your question,
I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.
There can be a few possibilities.
There can be muscle injury or contusion.
That can get worse with movement like arm motion during running.
A partial fracture of clavicle is also possible.
I would advise to take an examination by doctor.
After examination he can advise X ray, if he feels necessary.
Please keep that arm at rest.
You can take tylenol for pain.
I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
