Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, Experienced Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
These symptoms are very concerning.
Slurred speech, trembling of hands, and unsteady walking suggest problem in the brain.
Smoking can clog the arteries.
And high blood pressure increases the risk of infarcts in the brain.
This is likely ischemic stroke.
Lacunar infarcts or small strokes affecting multiple areas of the brain can cause these symptoms.
You should take your boyfriend to the ER for initial evaluation.
Then he should follow up with a neurologist.
Aspirin, plavix, a statin and BP lowering medications are recommended to prevent any further damage.
He should quit smoking soon.
High fiber diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, low fat milk and regular exercise as tolerated are recommended as well.
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us today. If you have any additional questions or need further clarifications, please do not hesitate to ask. I am here to answer them. I wish you good health. Regards, ***** *****
