Anthony Bray, MD : Hello!
Anthony Bray, MD : it sounds that you are describing a stress thallium or similar test...
Anthony Bray, MD : the portion where the camera picks up the tracer to reflect the Geary's blood circulation is the more specific part of the test ... This would be more reliable than the EKG tracings..
Anthony Bray, MD : if the thallium pictures showed normal uniform blood flow then you should be in good shape .. This test would be reviewed with your cardiologist of course...
Anthony Bray, MD : there are cases with suspicious symptoms in which a cardiologist may still want to perform the next step of testing...
Customer: i had an IV in my arm and they took9 x-rays) before and after the treadmill. what does a normal or neg test result and a moderate abnormal indicate
Anthony Bray, MD : It could be in a few such cases that a cardiac catheterization might still be recommended ... Most cases by far if a normal thallium would be a big thumbs up and no further testing recommended though...
Customer: does this mean i have a blockage somewhere or atrial fib /i had an IV in my arm and they took9 x-rays) before and after the treadmill. what does a normal or neg test result and a moderate abnormal indicate
Anthony Bray, MD : It sounds from your description that you probably had suspicious appearing EKG tracings but normal appearing Thallium pictures ...( or Cardiolyte)
Anthony Bray, MD : The thallium would be more accurate than interpreting EKG tracings...
Customer: does this mean i have a blockage somewhere or atrial fib /i had an IV in my arm and they took9 x-rays) before and after the treadmill. what does a normal or neg test result and a moderate abnormal indicate
Anthony Bray, MD : The details of your findings would be helpful to your interpretation...
Anthony Bray, MD : Do you have symptoms of angina ( heart related pain or discomfort) or abnormal shortness of breath with exertion??
Anthony Bray, MD : The results with your pictures being OK sounds more that a blockage of an artery to the heart muscle was ruled out...
Anthony Bray, MD : Do follow up to discuss recommendations with your cardiologist however!!
Customer:
this is what the order said for the test myoview rest/injection(myoperf multi study spect/wmef. Is this a thalium tewst?does this mean i have a blockage somewhere or atrial fib /i had an IV in my arm and they took9 x-rays) before and after the treadmill. what does a normal or neg test result and a moderate abnormal indicate
Anthony Bray, MD : Your account of your results is helpful but not in my perspective very detailed. The details should be helpful to your cardiologist . The test results are not interpreted only on their own but also in the perspective of your symptoms...
Anthony Bray, MD : having angina or chest pain with moderate exertion would be a treadmill finding that would increase the possible need for further testing for example ....

this is what the order said for the test myoview rest/injection(myoperf multi study spect/wmef. Is this a thalium tewst?does this mean i have a blockage somewhere or atrial fib /I have an appointment with a cardiologist. This makes me worried nowi had an IV in my arm and they took9 x-rays) before and after the treadmill. what does a normal or neg test result and a moderate abnormal indicate
Anthony Bray, MD : A negative Thallium scan is generally good evidence to support clean heart ... Ie no blockage ...
Anthony Bray, MD : a cardiac catheterization is more specific as to evaluating for coronary artery disease but if course this test is invasive and is not pursued unless really thought necessary...

Anthony Bray, MD : Your wording sounds that you had a NORMAL myoview ( this is the same as what I was describing)

Thanks for you advicei had an IV in my arm and they took9 x-rays) before and after the treadmill. what does a normal or neg test result and a moderate abnormal indicate
Anthony Bray, MD : the myoview gives no information as to rhythm such normal vs atrial fibrillation ... The stress test portion with the EKG would pick up normal rhythm vs atrial fibrillation ....
Anthony Bray, MD : the normal myoview would be evidence of NO BLOCKED ARTERIES...
Anthony Bray, MD : if the myoview portion was abnormal then this would be suggestive of possible blocked arteries...
Anthony Bray, MD : the IV / "X-rays " / contrast rest and after exercise are normal aspects if this test ....
Anthony Bray, MD : Discuss your EKG findings with your cardiologist as well as myoview portion...
Anthony Bray, MD : the myoview portion is the better aspect of the test to measure for decreased blood flow ( ie blocked arteries)
Anthony Bray, MD : the EKG portion is the best to look at the heart's electrical signature or rhythm ....
Anthony Bray, MD : I hope that this is helpful for your understanding of your test results...
Anthony Bray, MD : feel welcome to return and discuss this further after you have chance to find more specifics from your cardiologist !
Anthony Bray, MD : Let me know if you have further questions!
Anthony Bray, MD : if my answers have been helpful and to your satisfaction then please remember to leave positive feedback !
Anthony Bray, MD : I
Anthony Bray, MD : That would be very much appreciated!! Thank you and best regards!
