This answer was rated:

Hi
Final question for me. I have taken 3 in home oraquick oral tests. They have all came back negative. My possible exposure happened 9 months ago and I am not too worried. Are these tests reliable and can I just move on ?

Hi there,

This is Dr. D.J., experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.

I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Dr. D.J. :

Yes these tests are reliable especially after 9 months.

Dr. D.J. :

Plenty of time to develop adequate antibodies for the test.

Dr. D.J. :

These tests are more than 99% sensitive by the way.

Dr. D.J. :

So 3 negative tests practically rule out any HIV infection.

Dr. D.J. :

So you can move in.

JACUSTOMER-t4vttpim- : Ok so the possibility of three false negatives are slim practically 0?
Dr. D.J. :

correct

JACUSTOMER-t4vttpim- : Thank you. I will stop worrying about this and move on !
Dr. D.J. :

very welcome
