I've had a pain in my upper back (right near my left shoulder blade) for about a week now. I am wondering what it could be caused by?
Hi--does it hurt to move the shoulder or does it hurt to take a deep breath?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

no. I am able to rotate my arm fully without pain. I am also able to breathe without pain. I find if I stretch my shoulder, the pain goes away, but comes back a short while later.

OK Jeff. Doesn't sound lung related then. It sounds like you may have a touch of rhomboid bursitis--a muscle that lies underneath the shoulder blade. This should resolve in a few more days but if it doesn't you may need a course of prednisone to get rid of it
