I have a white milky discharge from my anus along with significant weight loss and pain with bowel movement

Hello Shamoon ,
I am Dr. Arun and will be helping you today.

Since when are your symptoms?
Any significant past medical illness or surgery?
Do you have bloating, gas, tenderness on abdomen, blood in stool, constipation / diarrhea, loss of appetite, urinary symptoms?

Any significant family history?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

its been about six months. yes, i have enormous amount of gas and occasional blood in stool. im also feeling tiredness and bodily cramps since yesterday. i have loose stools, no diarrea and my appetite is fine

Hello Shamoon,

I am not sure if you have been investigated for these symptoms. Following would be advised if not yet done;

1) Stool exam
2) Stool culture
3) CT scan of abdomen
4) Barium enema

Following are the diagnostic possibilities for these symptoms;

1) Colon polyps
2) Colon diverticulum
3) Colon and rectum tumors
4) Crohn's disease
5) Ulcerative colitis
6) Chronic infection like tuberculosis

You need an urgent evaluation with the investigations we had discussed.

Please feel free for your follow up questions.

I would be happy to assist you further, if you need any more information.

i recently read the symptoms of bowel cancer and thought i may have developed it. are you sure it cant be bowel cancer? no i have not been advised for any of these tests. my gp is gave me mebverine & omprazole but they dint work

Hello Shammon,

Please do not read Internet resource which are useless in an individual perspective and unnecessary cause anxiety. Mebeverine is helpful for abdominal spasms associated with conditions like irritable bowel syndrome. Your GP since can do physical exam, so he has more information. Still you should get further evaluation / medical imaging because your symptoms are significant and have been going for almost 6 months. IBS is diagnosed on ruling out all the other condition we had discussed above by these investigation. IBS diagnosis is mainly on excluding other intestinal conditions.

It is privilege assisting you.

last question: i had an ultrasound few months ago and it detected a large stone in my galbladder. however my gp says its fine as long as its dormant. do you think it can be a reason

Gall stone is not likely to cause your symptoms. I agree with your GPs observation that a dormant gall bladder stone should be left alone.
