Recent blood test revealed in TSH test a reading for MCH at 31.6. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroid. What are normal readings and should I start taking Synthroid? Apparently this has been long standing and I don't think i have had any symptoms. thanks

Hi--do you have the rest of the CBC results and why are you asking about synthroid?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

my error and it was a TSH reading of 11.1. does that make more sense?

Yes it does--are you having problems with fatigue, weight gain, hair, nails or skin?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

weight gain, nail growth, some hair thinning, less capable to concentrate

OK--you are definitely hypothyroid and you need the Synthroid. The target level for your TSH level on successful treatment is around 1.5
