This answer was rated:

I believe my husband is a functioning alcoholic. Its starting to seem like he starts to get crack and he goes for a beer or two to even out. Is that a symptom?
Does he drink alcohol on daily basis?
Since how long has he drinking alcohol?
Any changes in his behavior?
Any other medical illness?
Is he currently taking any other medicines?
Any other associated signs after drinking alcohol?
What is his occupation?

Thanks dear.

I understand your concern and it's my pleasure to help you in every aspect.
As per your description,he needs to be seen by your family doctor if he doesn't remember the last incident after drinking alcohol as it can indicate Alcohol related dementia/Alcohol dependence due to long term use of alcohol.
For further details-
Functional alcoholic -the alcoholic is able to maintain their outside life such as jobs, relationships, etc. all while drinking alcoholically.
If he is doing his work and business very well then he may be a functional alcoholic.
However he needs to limit his alcohol consumption gradually as chronic alcohol abuse can cause adverse effects on health.

Hope this helps.
