My 4yr old son has been vomiting this morning. He can't seem to hold down water. He has a slight fever. What should I do
How many episodes of vomiting so far?
Pain abdomen?
Are you giving him any medications?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Three episodes. One when he first got out of bed after drinking some water. Two after he tried eating a little breakfast of scrambled egg and three after sipping on some gator aid. No diarrhea. I just him children's Tylenol to reduce the fever.
Thanks for providing more information.
As he is unable to hold water so it's good to see him at ER or your regular doctor for a clinical examination and further injectable anti-emetic medications and IV fluids should be given to prevent dehydration from such persistent vomiting.
You shouldn't ignore his symptoms as possible causes may include Gastroentritis.
Any further epsiode of vomiting can result in dehydration causing symptoms like chills, lethargy, low blood pressure, dizziness.
In case of bacterial infection, antibiotics can be advised.
If possible visit ER for prompt management.
I hope this helps.
