I work on a farm and yesterday I cut my leg pretty deep

This answer was rated:

I work on a farm and yesterday I cut my leg pretty deep about an inch long. I remember hitting it on something, don't know what, and discovered the cut late last night. It did not appear dirty and didn't bleed much, but is deep. I havent had a tetanus shot for 15-20 years but am a little afraid of them. Are the side effects of the shot worth the small risk of getting tetanus?
Thank you for your question,
I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.
Tetanus is risky for life.
The risk of shot is negligible compared to the experience of tetanus.
You can read in this link the effect of tetanus.
In generalized tetanus 25-50% of people can die.
Whereas in shot there can be a little pain which often does not last long.
So you should not fear to get tetanus shot.
I hope this information helps.
I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.
Please feel free for any follow up query.
Best wishes.
