I have a problem with my throat but don’t what is causing or what do fix it. For a least eight months on and off my throat has been bothering me. The best way I can describe it is a tightness in my throat. I can be asleep and all of a sudden am sorting of grasping to shallow. There times when I am eating at home or at a restaurant and feels like can shallow me food. I also feel like about to pass out but I never do. Yesterday and today been awful. I had shaved around my neck and I got into the shower and I felt the tightness of my throat like about to shallow it or I can’t shallow. I cling to handle in the share so I don’t pass out. I am concerned about because this such a strange feeling.

If you need more information after reading the answer, please feel free to ask.
Tight feeling in the throat & difficulty in swallowing can occur from a few causes.
There can be spasm of the esophagus or larynx.
Laryngopharyngeal reflux can cause it.
There can be incoordination or neuromuscular problem during swallowing but you did not give any past history of such illness..
It can also come from anxiety & stress.
Passing out feeling can occur from anxiety & stress.
Vasovagal attacks can occur.
There can be other conditions too like heart diseases, neurologic or lung problems, carotid sinus hypersensitivity, dehydration.etc.
Please try to keep good hydration by taking enough fluid.
I would suggest to take an examination by your doctor.
Doctor can suggest a few tests depending on the clinical findings.
Treatment will then follow accordingly.
I hope this information helps.
I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.
Please feel free for any follow up query.
Best wishes.
