This answer was rated:

I have had sporadic pain/pressure above my right ear and occasionally right and left ear over the past month. It is about 2 inches above and 1 inch behind the ear(s). It seems to come on out of nowhere and a headache in both temples has started this last time. Then it doesn't happen for days. Would a vascular issue cause this?? Could a carcinoma?? Thanks for your feedback.

Dr Brims :

I'm sorry to hear about this

Dr Brims :

Do you have any medical conditions or take any medication?

Customer:

No medical conditions. I only take Prilosec for Acid Reflux.

Customer:

I'm sorry- I also take Claritin for seasonal allergies.

Dr Brims :

You don't have anxiety disorder?

Customer:

No. Would that cause this??

Dr Brims :

Any redness or swelling?

Customer:

No.

Dr Brims :

Any blurry vision?

Customer:

Not that I have noticed.

Dr Brims :

Do you have sinus obstruction?

Customer:

I don't think so. My allergies have been really bad and usually are this time of year but I have never had this feeling of pressure in the past.

Dr Brims :

Okay, any fevers, chills or night sweats?

Customer:

No

Dr Brims :

Okay, this may be due to an obstruction or inflammation in your ear, and it may be causing the pressure and pain you have. You should have an ear exam , you may require antibiotics to treat this

Customer:

Ok.

Dr Brims :

Is there anything you would still like to ask or you would like me to clarify on this topic?

Dr Brims :

Are you there?

Customer:

My main concern was brain cancer and I'm assuming from your responses that this isn't something I should be concerned about.

Dr Brims :

No, I don't think this is related to brain cancer

Customer:

Ok. Thank you.

Dr Brims :

You're very welcome
