I caught my fingernail and it lifted up 3/4 of the way. This happened two weeks ago and nail is still there but not reconnected. I keep it clean and use bandaid during day to protect from lifting. Will nail grow back and is there anything else I should be doing

Associated swelling,bluish discoloration,pain under nailbed?

Have you seen a doctor so far?

Any other medical illness?

Slight bluish color close to cuticle under nail. No pain or swelling. I do not have diabetes. Meds are Lipitor Zoloft Zyrtec dexilant

Thanks for providing more information.

Generally, if the nail bed is still intact, the fingernail will grow back, though slowly, at about 1mm per week.

This means it may take 3-4 months before the nail is back to it's normal length.

You should clean the nail with antiseptic betadine solution.

And if possible trim the raised nail if you feel no pain.

Avoid frequent handwashing and open the bandage after a week.
