I've had a soft painless lump on my ULQ for sometime now. It has not changed in shape or size over this time. I've also had a dull ache in the same area that comes and goes, and seems to be aggravated by greasy foods. I've changed my diet and haven't had the ache since.
Dr. Saha :

Hello,

Dr. Saha :

Welcome to Just Answer.

Dr. Saha :

When did you notice the lump first?

Customer: About 2 years ago. The ache I described didn't start until about a year ago
Dr. Saha :

How large is it?

Customer: About the size of an m&m it's a visible raised lump 2 in below and a 1/2 in to the right of my left nipple
Dr. Saha :

Does it appear to be inside or in the surface of abdomen or chest?.

Customer: Seems to be contained within the muscle tissue of my abdomen
Dr. Saha :

Did you get any examination by doctor in last 2 years?

Customer: No, I will be seeing one shortly
Dr. Saha :

Soft painless lump in this location can be due to a few causes.

Dr. Saha :

There can be a lipoma.

Dr. Saha :

Lipoma is a collection of fat cells.

Dr. Saha :

It is benign in nature.

Dr. Saha :

Other possibility can be a cyst.

Dr. Saha :

Enlarged spleen can cause a feeling of lump but that is usually firm in feeling.

Dr. Saha :

Yes, I would suggest to get an examination by doctor.

Dr. Saha :

Dull ache on taking fatty food can be from gall bladder issues but it is on right side.

Dr. Saha :

Gastritis, peptic ulcer can cause ache on left side.

Dr. Saha :

This is unlikely to be related to lump.

Dr. Saha :

You can take ranitidine or nexium for it.

Dr. Saha :

Please avoid spicy, fatty food.

Customer: The lump isn't hard but firm in nature, what other symptoms would relate to enlarged spleen?
Dr. Saha :

There may not be any other symptom.

Dr. Saha :

An ultrasound examination can be taken to see the nature of it.

Dr. Saha :
My goal is to provide you with excellent service today.
Dr. Saha :

If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know

Customer: Ill get further answers from an examination, thank you
Dr. Saha :

You are always welcome.
