Doesn't really look like strep
Ears keep popping. Mostly right side

Way worse at night and morning
Was on a z-pack about 2 weeks ago for the same symptoms (minus ear pain) and if was diagnosed "pharyngitis".
What's wrong with me?!
Welcome to Justanswer website.
Myself Dr Josh and I’m happy to help with your question today. Please provide me the following information so that I can address your concern appropriately.
Do you have pain in swallowing?
Do you see red spots on tonsils?
Do you have enlarged lymph nodes in neck?
Do you have fever?
Have you undergone any test?
For how long you have this problem?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Yes--pain when swallowing

No spots on tonsils or enlarged lymph nodes, no fever

I had a strep test and it was negative, I also had blood drawn today and was told my white blood cell count was fine

After my first zpack about two weeks ago I was fine and the symptoms began to return Monday

Today when I went to the doc she gave me another z pack prescription but told me to wait and see if I am still having the sore throat Saturday before I fill it.

Thanks Chris, for all these additional details. I am sorry to hear about your problems.
It is good to hear that strep test and wbc count has come to be negative. It indicates that you don't have any serious infection.
Your symptoms are suggestive an infection in the throat. Viral infection often passes off in 3-5 days, sometimes it can prolong though.
Sometimes, after a viral episode bacterial infection supervenes.
Yes, sometimes one may need 2 courses of Z-pack.
At this time, if symptoms persist then you need to use Z-pack again. I have clinically seen many such patients who have to be prescribed with one after other course of antibiotics.
I completely agree with your doctor, that you may need second course of z-pack.
Along with antibiotics, kindly follow these home measures-
1. You can Gargle with hot, saline water - mix 2 teaspoonfuls of salt in 1 glass of hot water and gargle thrice daily.
2. Steam inhalation would be helpful. Take a bowl of hot water, and put two tsf of salt in it. You can also put menthol in it if you have some. Inhale the steam that rises from the water.
3. Take Motrin tablet for throat pain.
4. You can improve your immunity by taking a multivitamin multi mineral supplement.
5. You should drink a glass of warm lemon juice daily.
I hope this helps.
