Do you know what your TSH level was? Were your cortisol levels checked?

OK. Your GP may not be aware of the newer guidelines that say that if your TSH is over 3.0, with your symptoms, you should be considered hypothyroid and be placed on thryoid supplementation. You also need the cortisol levels checked because this could be a problem with high cortisol.

So what is cortisol levels

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 4 years ago.
Cortisol is a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands and sometimes there can be what's called adrenal hyperplasia where too much cortisol is secreted and that can cause symptoms like yours.
