The left side of my upper body (face, arm, fingers) is tingly

This answer was rated:

The left side of my upper body (face, arm, fingers) is tingly all of a sudden. What could this be?

Welcome to Just Answer.

When did the symptoms start?

Are you still feeling it?

Is there any previous disease or other symptom?

Thank you.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
No previous health issues, except for migraines. I can still feel the tingles, although have subsided a little I'm sitting up in bed. The symptom just started .

Thank you for the information,

The tingling sensation is related to nerve impulses.

Migraine can cause symptoms in the arm, face on one side.

Other causes can be due to pinching of a nerve or its root, TIA, stroke etc.

Sometimes low calcium or electrolytes, vitamins , thyroid diseases, diabetes, or other nerve disorders can be factor.

Though you have migraine, but as the symptom is new, I would advise to get an examination by doctor & have a few tests.

If the symptoms do not subside completely, you need to take an examination in ER or urgent care.

I hope this information helps.

Thank you. Thinking back, 2 nights ago I woke up and my whole left arm was numb, not tingling or anything. The blood started flowing after I raised it up and shook it. Do you think that is related to tonight?
You are always welcome.

Low circulation can also cause a sensation of numbness in a limb.

When due to posture during sleep the circulation is impaired you can feel such.

But today's symptom may not be related as it is affecting the face as well.

If you are satisfied, please leave an excellent feed back.

Good luck.
