This answer was rated:

Healthy 60 male, no meds, fingernails have stopped growing or extremely slow growing for past 9 months. Only systemic problem is chronic sinusitis and cough ( both cleared by 2 chest x-rays, non-smoker) duration of same 9 months.
Any change in the appearance of the nails themselves?

yes. toenails also much slower growth than normal

OK This sounds like onycholysis which is a separation of the nails from the nailbed. It can be a fungal infection that can be treated with oral medication. It could also possibly be nail psoriasis. That said, with so many nails involved, you may have a systemic problem with low thyroid or a vitamin deficiency. You should discuss this with your doctor and perhaps get some blood work and a dermatology referral.
