What did your colored doppler study of the neck arteries (carotid arteries) show?
Do you have high blood pressure, diabetes?
Any significant past history like stroke?
Any family history?

right carodid showed begining of blockage parents had it all. high blood pressure blocked arteries blocked but not me yet. however i have been diagnosed with mixed collegen vascular disease in1986 schogrens ,hepc, cryoglobulinemia,eb virus barretts esophagus 1993,ostioarthritis ostioporosis periphial vascular periphial neuropathy glaucoma carpel tunnel in both wrist tennis elbow rt arm .a 53%curviture in lumbar 35 in thorasic spine. t12 compound fracture.Cervical stenosis with boney protrusions in two places on spinal cord with spinal fluid leakage sinus brayicardia central and obstructive sleep apnia very bad. so you see this will be too difficult im affraid

Hello Debbie,

I am sorry about your concomitant medical conditions. Gliosis and chronic microvascular ischemic disease may be related to collagen vascular disease as they affect the small blood vessels of whole body. Overall they may be progressive but they are part of the aging disorder also. About 45% people have the normal life span with these issue. Though some is expected in a decade or so. About 5% people may have dementia or varying severity.
