Hi,
For how many days you are having this?Is there any numbness as well?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
On and off for a few weeks now. not really numbness, more like pins & needles but not quite as strong as that.
Expert:  Dr. Nomi replied 5 years ago.
You are most likely having a condition called 'Peripheral neuropathy'.It happen after damage to a nerve or a group of nerves supplying body. This damage can occur due to trauma, increased blood sugar levels, infections ,excessive alcohol intake etc.

You need to get your foot examined by a neurologist.
Best Regards

Hello
Had you had any injuries
Any back problems?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Hi,

No injuries at all & no back problems.
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 5 years ago.
OK
And has anyone examined your back
Or the foot?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
No, not at all.

My foot doesnt feel any different when I touch it, and no pain. just a tingling sensation on and off all day. It doesnt matter if im standing, sitting, whatever.
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 5 years ago.
OK
this is most likely a mild radiculopathy ...radiating symptom..from irritation of a nerve root in the lower spine..although sometimes it can be from compression at the ankle or lower.

See a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist specifically.

This is an MD that specializes in manual medicine and this will be most cost effective as it will get you the correct manual therapies to fix this.

MRI if indicated by exam to look at the discs and nerve roots.

Most likely this can be completely cured at this point.

But you don't want to let it go on..as then it can become a surgical problem.

Do you think diabetes could be a cause of this? I am overweight, and a smoker
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 5 years ago.
It could yes
but usually that is in both feet.
Circulation in the leg should also be checked.
