Hi, welcome to justanswer , if the pain gets worse, is more pronounced when you exercise or walk , if your legs get swollen or the pain does not improve within a period of 5-7 days , you should consult a doctor and get it checked out .

Leg pain is usually benign and simple measures could help including drinking plenty of water ( 8 glasses of water per day ), elevate your legs , apply cool pads alternated with warm pads , ingest foods with potassium like bananas or apricots , stretch and massage your muscles and you could take over the counter pain medication like acetaminophen or ibuprofen if you are not allergic . If the pain does not get better within 5 days, consult your doctor for a further evaluation.

There are several conditions that could produce leg pain from : injuries, overexercising, leg cramps,Baker's Cyst (fluid filled sac behind your knee),bursitis, bone joint inflammation, fibromyalgia ,varicose veins, leg veins or blood vessel inflammation, herniated lower back disc, blood clots , atherosclerosis , decreased or irregular leg blood flow, medication side effects, spinal nerve root irritation or compression or irregular electrolyte blood levels . Your doctor will perform some tests including : blood tests, a X-rays, an arteriogram, a doppler or ultrasound study and urine tests to determine which of these conditions is producing your symptoms so You can be treated properly.

If you experience other symptoms like fever , chest pain or breathing difficulty , go to the emergency immediately.
