Thank you Dr. Owen. I am very concerned about the recent information
that says that statins can do alot of damage. Can I live healthy by
change of diet to more of a Vegetarian type and not use statins?
Thanks so much. LYnne Proper

Well here is what you need to know - Statins are safe when used probably - and the biggest problem that I have seen is that people who are using statins and they STILL do not take care of themselves and especially when they become hydrated - this is when I see problems - so I would just recommend staying well hydrated, eating well, and then doing Liver function tests (LFTs) every 6 months, then you should be fine - please do not worry about the 'media' they do a lot of scarring people for no reason.
