Thank you for the input,

You are probably having gastroenteritis. In most cases it is viral. Sometimes bacterial & other infections can be there. Try to take plenty of fluid & electrolytes like oral rehydration fluid, gatorade starting in small frequent sips . Pepto bismol can be tried. At this age otc diarrhea reducing medicine should not be tried. Rice, banana, toast will be helpful. Urine output should be watched too. If it decreases it can suggest dehydration. If you can not retain enough food and water, then you can develop dehydration & needs to be treated urgently with IV fluid. This can lead to dehydration otherwise. Consultation in the ER would be a good idea then. Stool testing, antibiotics can be needed too. Any query, please feel free to ask.

It will be my privilege to assist you.

I give my Mom 6-8 grapes before she goes to bed each night. She eats them during the night shen she gets up to urinate. Could eating too many grapes cause the diaharria?
Expert:  Dr. Su S replied 5 years ago.
Excess fruits can cause diarrhea. But 6-8 grapes are not too much. It can be from indigestion or infection. Try to give fluid. If it is bacterial infection, then antibiotic will be needed.
