My 86 year old mother had Rhabdomyolysis a week ago brought

Resolved Question:

My 86 year old mother had Rhabdomyolysis a week ago brought on by simvastatin 40 mg and Narvasc combo - treated with constant IV therapy for a week. Kidney numbers came down to "200" - but now she is experiencing a lot of pain over her left kidney area...only heat seems to help. The doctors think it may be a muscle spasm but I am concerned that the are not considering the possible damage to her kidney. Would an affected kidney be painful. How much should I push this with the doctors/nursing staff?

The kidney should not be causing pain at this point.
It is much more likely muscular.
Simply have a repeated renal function blood test done to make sure she is OK
At most, renal ultrasound...but probably not needed.
good luck
