for the day, 40 to 50 grams approximately, a little more if very active.
protein is way over done
and animal protein is not particularly good for a diabetic because of the concentration and the fat
whole grains, veggies, fruits, beans , seeds and nuts all have protein which is more tolerable and in lower concentrations.

if you want such a diet that can stabilize and/or reverse type 2, see the book Dr. Neal Barnards program for Reversing Diabetes.
This is essentially a diet with little to no animal protein, but still enough protein.
good luck
yes this would be appropriate
As would any surgeon that works on feet
or any wound specialist.
good luck
