Hi there and thank you for the question. I am a Registered Nurse and will be happy to help you today.
It could be due to being slightly dehyratded, yes. Make sure you are drinking lots of water (not just soda and juice) and you need to apply something like Vaseline or chap stick to the lip so that it won't crack. Once it's cracks it will be hard for it to heal.
