When did it develop?

Is there any redness, swelling, tenderness?

Did you have any test?

Do you have any other symptom or previous illness?

Thank you.

It developed about a week and a half ago and it is both a dull and sharp internal pain in my left shoulder and arm and it keeps me awake at night. No redness or swelling. I have not had any tests yet. Three months ago I was in an accident and suffered a hematoma and soft tissue injury in my neck however this appears to be unrelated. I am a very healthy 51 year old and I am concerned that this could be the on set of a heart attack as the pain appears to be getting progressively worse.

Thank you for the information,

This seems more like a musculoskeletal issue.

This can be related to injury to shoulder joint, rotator cuff or from other inflammation like adhesive capsulitis, tendinitis.

Loss of movement indicates a joint problem or from a pinching or impingement of nerve.

Though heart pain can radiate to left arm , shoulder but loss of movement is less likely & often aggravated on exertion.

Your pain is more during night or sleep.

I would advise to get an examination by doctor.

Doctor can examine & if he feels take X ray/ scan to find out the exact cause.

He can also take an EKG to rule out heart issue.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.
