Is there a generic form of LIPITOR - if so what is it and if not is SIMVASTIN a reasonable generic subsitute?

Sorry spelled it wrong should be simvastatin

Welcome to and thanks for your question .
Atorvastatin calcium is made in tablet form by generic drug makers under various brand names including Atoris, Atorlip, Lipvas, Sortis, Torvast, Torvacard, Totalip, and Tulip.
However most of these generic versions may not available in US.
Some of the statins do have generic versions, including:

Mevacor: generic = lovastatin
Pravachol: generic = pravastatin
Zocor: generic = simvastatin
I suggest you to consult your doctor for further evaluation and management .
I hope this helps.
