Hello,
Welcome to justanswer.com and thanks for your question .

Well as you describe you need to be seen by a colo rectal specialist for a clinical examination for further evaluation and management .
Possible causes include -
Hemorrhoids - the symptoms you have are due to swollen veins in your rectum or anus.It is called as External hemorrhoids .
Anal fissure

In the meantime firstly you should take self care measures to relieve symptoms which include-

Use a sitz bath with warm water.
Use moist towelettes or wet toilet paper .
Take Metamucil.
Drink plenty of water.
Avoid alcohol, spicy food, fat rich food.
Avoid straining during Bowel movement .
Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Avoid long periods of standing or sitting.
Even sitting too long, particularly on the toilet, can increase the pressure on the veins in the anus.
Do regular exercises .
I hope this helps.

could this be anal cancer
Expert:  Dr. Anil replied 6 years ago.
The symptoms of anal cancer are not unique and are also symptoms of other conditions, such as hemorrhoids which include -
lumps or bumps located near the anus
anal bleeding or bleeding during bowel movements
anal discharge
pain in or around the anus
itchy sensation around or inside the anus
change in bowel habits, such as constipation, diarrhea and the thinning of the stools .
So the diagnosis can be made after a clinical examination by a colo rectal specialist .
It is typically found in adults, average age early 60s.
Other risk factor include smoking , HPV infection , anal sex ,inflammatory bowel syndrome .
