This answer was rated:

I have a sore throat around the adam's apple. It feels sore and swolen. When I swallow it feels hard and sore and I feel it in my ears.
Since when do you have these symptoms?

Any coughing or runny nose?

Did you had any tests done for this?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

I have had these symptoms for about a week.

I have a tickly cough. Would excessive coughing be causing this?

Yes, excessive coughing can also strain the throat muscles causing discomfort. Also, you may have bacterial infection of the throat or tonsils, that can cause these symptoms. I would recommend seeing an ENT and getting a throat culture test done along with detailed physical examination. In the meantime, you can take otc medications for coughing such as Robitussin.
