My 6 year old daughter has a bruise on her spine that looks

Resolved Question:

My 6 year old daughter has a bruise on her spine that looks like she hurt herself (looks like dried blood in a circle smaller than the size of a dime) and she is complaining of back pain. It is about halfway down her back and the area around it seems to be tender. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be the cause? She doesn't recall hurting herself recently.

dear customer,

can she walk or move around?
ant blaader or bowel disturbance?
any history of fall or trauma?
did you consult a doctor yet?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
She is walking but started crying about how painful it is and how she was having a hard time sitting in her chair at school today. Haven't noticed any issues with her bladder or bowel. No history of fall or trauma. Have not yet consulted a doctor. Was thinking of going to the ER to make sure it's not something like meningitis.

dear customer,

The tenderness may be due to the various causes like nerve irritation, abscess, injury, trauma, insect bite etc.

As per the symptoms the chances of trauma should be rled out frst which may cause such pain and swelling.

The other possibility could be the insect bite which may also cause swelling, pain and tenderness associated with it.

The analgesic drugs like motrin, tylenol etc are required to ease the symptoms. The oral antibiotics are needed to control the infectious cause.

The antihistamine drugs like benadryl, cetrizine are helpful in symptoms due to insect bite.

You should have the relevant investigations done like blood counts, physical examination by doctor, x-ray back to know the associated abnormality.

The treatment depends on the underlying cause.

Let me know if you have any doubt.

Thank you!

Is this something I should be very concerned about or should I give her the pain medication and get her checked out by the doctor in the morning? And should I put an antibacterial cream on it like Neosporin in the meantime?
