Hi,

Thanks for input,

low RBC, low HB, and low HCT mean that there is high possibility of iron deficiency anemia.while normal iron negates this possibility.

other causes of low HCT are acute bleeding, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, cirrhosis of liver and malignancies.

low MPV is seen when the size of platelets is small, this can vary in many people and small size indicates old platelets.

normal iron, iron biniding capacity and ferritin means that there is no iron deficiency, so the causes that i have mentioned above can be possible cause of such blood report.

I hope this answers your question.

would low BUN & Low BUN/CRE Ratio indicate anything
Expert:  Dr.S.A.Alam replied 7 years ago.
Hi,

Thanks for input,

low BUN is usually not of major concern it can be normal,

other cause of low BUN are malnutrition and liver disease.

similarly low BUN/ creatinine ratio can be seen in renal disease as BUN is lower than

the normal so this reading is most likely due to the same reasons like malnutrition and

liver disease.

I hope this answers your question.
