My husband has burned himself on the hand and wrist, with hot fat, he has run cold water for a long time but is still very painful. Should anything be applied now?

Apply lots of cold water and Ice over the area, until the burning eases.

Do not aply any oil based ointment over it.

Let the blister form and do not break it, the blister covering acts as a natural sterile covering.

Cover gently with a sterile gauze so that this area does not get injured.

He needs ot drink lots of water and fluids to prevent dehydration.

If this is a large area, then please take him to the ER for an examination and proper dressing and wound care.

Kind Regards,
