I have this recurring pain in my neck, shoulder, and now

This answer was rated:

I have this recurring pain in my neck, shoulder, and now into my chest. When I breathe deep the pain is worse. It started about 2 days ago very mild but has increased now to where it hurts when I breathe.

How long are you having this?

Is the pain constant?

Did you have cough, muscle strain or any other symptom or previous illness?

Did you have any test or treatment?

Thank you.

I have had this pain for 2 days. It started like maybe I had slept wrong but has not improved, it has gotten much worse. The pain is constant but worse when I breathe deep and when I bend over. Picking up weight does not affected it. I have not had a pain like this before. I have not had any tests done I was going to go to the doctor today. The treatment I have done is nsaids, heat, and massage none of these have helped. I am female age 25.

Thank You

Thank you for the information,

The symptoms can be due to muscular pain or from the lung cause.

Inflammation of the pleura or lung covering can cause acute pain in the chest which aggravates with breathing.

In case of muscular pain, NSAID, heat, massage should help.

As they are not helping, you should consult doctor for examination and investigations to find out the correct diagnosis and early start of treatment if it is necessary.

I hope this information will be helpful.

Please ask if you need any clarification.

Best wishes.

Would inflammation of the pleura cause my neck and shoulder to have pain as well?
Inflammation of the pleura can have referred pain to shoulder and neck.

As your pain started in the neck and shoulder, then to chest, it is more likely to muscular pain.

In severe muscular pain, there can be chest pain with breathing.

Though in your age, heart pain is unusual, still heart pain can cause pain in all the neck, shoulder, chest area.

Physical examination by a doctor is necessary to distinguish between them.
