I was just recently tested for hsv-1 and my level results

i was just recently tested for hsv-1 and my level results came out to be 3.13. does this mean that i am positive for it?

Do you know if this was testing for the IgM or IgG antibodies?

And your testing results usually come with a guide, such as >1.1 positive, and <0.9 negative...did the results come with such a guide?

I would believe that for the HSV-1 IgG testing, your level of 3.13 would place you in the > 1.1, or greater than 1:1000 titer detection of the HSV virus -- so yes, this would likely indicate a recent infection with HSV-1.

For verification, a repeat test can be done in 2-3 weeks to ensure that there is a 4 fold change in the titers, or a IgM test can be done at the same time.
