Customer Question

My daughter, just 29 yrs. old has been struggling with cervical dystonia for the past 2yrs. This brought on full blown anorexia, as it's been difficult to swallow, not choke, with dystonia. She has been deteriorating despite all best efforts, hovering at about 73 lbs. for one yr. now. 2 months ago, she started developing leg calf swelling. Now, it is full blown painful abdominal ascites, stretching her belly button outward. Her ankles have now been quite visibly swollen past 2 days, hard to fit her shoes. She has no doctor, and does not know where to go for appropriate treatment.

It seems anorexia has lead to a marked decrease in the protein production as well as water and salt imbalance. This may have lead to the development of marked swelling also known clinically as Anasarca.

I think you should her take her to the ER immediately to get her urgent help. This is a high degree of swelling and it may need help before its too late.
