My friend (aged 61) has had surgery recently for breast

Customer Question

my friend (aged 61) has had surgery recently for breast cancer and is waiting to receive radiotherapy. A couple of weeks ago she went to her doctor because she thought she had haemorrhoids but she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and is going into hospital next week to have part of her bowel removed. Are the two cancers related and what is her life expectancy now she has bowel cancer?

the two cancers are not as such related but certain gene mutations can cause multiple organ tumors in humans. the prognosis will depend on the stagiing of the cancer both colon and breast.. she will need work up to find out if other organs are involved as well. also prognosis will depend on the response to chemo

Thank you for your reply. What type of tests should she have now to ensure the cancer has not spread?
