I have been told that I have been exposed to HPV. Is it possible

Customer Question

I have been told that I have been exposed to HPV. Is it possible that I contracted it 36 years ago, and it never showed up until now?

Dear ligumlaw,

All persons who get infected with HPV need not show signs and remain asymptomatic but are able to spread it to partners. It can not be told when you exactly contracted and from whom. It can be any instance where you had a unprotected sex. Only a blood test can show that there is an infection present.

with best regards,
