Resolved Question:

Believe I contracted an STD about 2 weeks ago.   Went in for testing yesterday (Friday). Should have results Weds. I have very slight throbbing of end of penis and slight hot itch on anus.   Should I wait for test results or seek treatment on Monday? How long from treatment until I'm not contagious?

Hello and thanks for the question

You should be ok to wait until you get your results back for treatment but usually symptoms will typically guide you when seeking medical attention. If your discomfort heightens, you will most likely need to start an antibiotic and/or cream sooner than Wednesday. Determining how long from treatment until you are not contagious, will depend on what bacteria is causing your symptoms and what you are given (antibiotic wise). Just make sure you protect others and do not have sexual contact without protection while you are being treated.

Hope this helps. Please reply if additional info is needed.
