The swelling in the ankle & feet is called edema & is due to collection of fluid. Typically it develops in these parts of the body due to gravity in the day time & disappears on lying down. There are many causes of swollen ankle and feet. Sometimes it may occurs without any disease due to prolonged standing. Other causes may be the diseases of the heart, kidney, liver, lymphatic obstruction, venous insufficiency, low blood protein etc. You need a clinical examination by a doctor and to do some investigations to determine the cause as it has been associated with tingling which suggests nerve irritation can be from pressure from any cause.
