Are your all movements painful of the elbow? Is this sports injury? Do you have a specific painful or tender point?

It hasnt been officially diagnosed,but it seems to fit all the symptoms. I play golf and it started bothering my towards the end of the summer. The most painful part is when I try to lift things in my right arm. It hurts on the outside of the elbow area.

The Golfer's elbow (and its counterpart tennis elbow on the opposite end) have following advised for the treatment;

1) Anti-inflammatory analgesics like Motrin / Advil for around 10-14 days.

2) Elbow brace

3) Physical therapy

4) Warm compresses

5) Local analgesic patch / ointment / spray

These are the initial modalities and if the pain does not respond than the further interventions would be required;

1) iontophoresis, phonophoresis

2) electrical stimulation

3) shock wave therapy

4) local steroid shots

If these measures, do not help, surgical intervention may be undertaken.
